Charis’ Story | South Sudan 🇸🇸
Sometimes hope looks like rescue from danger. Sometimes it looks like a community refusing to let someone face hardship alone.
Last fall, Charis received a frightening medical diagnosis. Already living in poverty, she knew the cost of treatment could place an unbearable burden on her family and leave her vulnerable to exploitative debt.
But Charis was not alone.
Through her She Is Safe Group, women in her community prayed with her, helped raise funds for her medical care, cared for her children, and even kept her small business running while she received treatment.
Six months later, Charis was home, healthy, and praising God for the faithful support that carried her through.
Her story is a reminder that changed lives are not always marked by one dramatic moment. Sometimes transformation happens through people who simply choose to stand beside someone, meet a real need, and refuse to let them walk through hardship alone.
That is the kind of work we are honored to support through Crossroads Coffee Traders.
Your cup. Their hope. His glory.
