Before the First Sip | Season Two, Episode 2: The Gospel Has a Destination

“And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!’”
Romans 10:15 NKJV
Last Monday, we ended with a question Paul asked nearly two thousand years ago:
“How shall they hear?”
This morning, I am writing to you from Togo, West Africa, thousands of miles from my normal Monday morning routine, and Paul’s very next question carries a little more weight from here:
“And how shall they preach unless they are sent?”
🌍 Missions has taught me that the Gospel was never meant to remain comfortably within the places where it is already known. It has a destination, and that destination is people.
Behind every line on a map are communities filled with men, women, and children who have their own languages, cultures, struggles, hopes, and stories. Some live where the Gospel has been proclaimed for generations, while others have far less access to the message that Jesus Christ came to seek and save the lost.
That is why the Church sends.
We send missionaries, support national believers, equip local churches, translate Scripture, pray for the nations, and sometimes simply say yes when God asks us to leave what is familiar and go somewhere else.
📖 Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15 NKJV).
This week, for me, go means Togo. For someone else, it may mean another continent, another state, the family next door, a coworker across the hallway, or a people group they have never met but begin faithfully bringing before God in prayer.
The destination may change, but the message does not.
Jesus saves.
So before your first sip this morning, look at the world differently. Don’t simply see countries on a map; remember the people who live within them, pray for those carrying the Gospel to them, and ask God where He wants the Gospel to travel through your obedience.
☕ Brew your coffee. Open your Bible. Find the nation on the map. And before the first sip, pray.
Because the Gospel has a destination, and somewhere beyond where we are comfortable, someone is waiting to hear.
🌍 Until All Have Heard.
Coffee is the invitation. Jesus is the destination.
Fueling hope, one cup at a time.
